On January 28 we held the first event of our Linley Tech 2010 series.
This one-day technical seminar focused on network processors, packet
processors, Ethernet switches, and related technologies for applications such as 100G Ethernet, packet transport, and mobile backhaul.
The seminar opened with a presentation by Bob Wheeler, senior analyst with The Linley Group, highlighting Carrier Ethernet design trends and provided context for later presentations. The remainder of the program included subjects ranging from 100G line-card designs to timing synchronization and rate control. Relevant chips discussed included network processors (NPUs), 10GbE switch chips, and devices for optical transport.
