Held San Jose on September 16, 2008

On September 16th, The Linley Group held a Linley Tech seminar on the technologies driving the future of enterprise and data-center networks. The one-day event featured in-depth presentations on the newest chips and technologies for switching and server connectivity from leading suppliers of OEM products for this market.

The seminar opened with a presentation from Jag Bolaria, senior analyst with The Linley Group, highlighting market and technology trends and providing context for later presentations. The remainder of the day included talks and panel discussions covering a broad range of topics such as 10GbE switching, 10GbE backplanes, and application-aware networking.

Russell Dietz, VP and CTO, Hifn, examined "Data Security in the Next-Generation Data Center - Server and Storage Virtualization Changing the Landscape"
> Jan Meise, Director, Business Development, Finisar, discussed "Active Optical Cables: Low-Power Solutions for High-Speed Server Connectivity in the Data Center"

The seminar was intended for network-equipment vendors, server OEMs, system designers, network service providers, enterprise-network managers, software developers, press, and the financial community.

Attendance was free to qualified attendees who registered early. This Linley Tech seminar was held at the DoubleTree Hotel in San Jose.
