Linley Tech Seminars
The Linley Group is pleased to offer a series of live one-day technical seminars focused on specific system-design topics. You'll have the opportunity to hear our analysts, as well as architects and technologists from leading vendors as they deliver information-packed technical presentations and participate in lively panel discussions. Our goal is to provide you with in-depth technical information relevant to your design needs.

Enterprise and Data Center Networking

July 18, 2007

On July 18th, The Linley Group will host the next seminar in its Linley Tech 2007 series. This one-day event in San Jose will focus on the technologies driving the future of enterprise and data-center networks. This seminar is intended for network-equipment vendors, server OEMs, system designers, service providers, enterprise-network managers, software developers, press, and the financial community.

This event will feature in-depth presentations on the newest chips and technologies for switching and server connectivity from leading suppliers of OEM products for this market. You won't want to miss this outstanding lineup of technical presenters, including:

  • Ofer Iny, CTO, Dune Networks
  • Michael Kagan, VP of Architecture, Mellanox Technologies
  • Steve Pope, CTO, Solarflare Communications
  • Alex Dickinson, President and CEO, Luxtera
  • Brad Booth, Senior Principal Engineer, AMCC
  • Geoff Waters, Senior Systems Engineer, Freescale
  • Asif Hazarika, Senior Manager, Fujitsu Microelectronics America
  • Kin-Yip Liu, Director of Applications Engineering, Cavium Networks

The seminar will open with a presentation from The Linley Group highlighting market and technology trends and providing context for later presentations. The remainder of the day will include talks and panel discussions covering a broad range of topics such as 10GbE switching, 10GbE backplanes, optical interconnects, and application-aware networking.

And you'll have the opportunity to see live demos such as AMCC's backplane Ethernet 10GBASE-KR ecosystem and Freescale's L7-Filter using their integrated pattern matching engine.

The seminar wraps up with a closing panel exploring the future of data-center networks. Following this will be a reception complete with exhibits and a raffle where we'll be giving away an iPod Nano, as well as one of The Linley Group's reports.

Register now! Attendance is free to qualified attendees that pre-register. The seminar will be held at the DoubleTree Hotel in San Jose, CA.

This event is sponsored by Freescale, AMCC, Solarflare, Luxtera, Mellanox, Dune, Cavium, and Fujitsu Microelectronics.

High-Speed Interconnects

Held May 9, 2007

This Linley Tech seminar explored the latest products and technologies for PCIe, RapidIO, Ethernet and other leading interconnects. The event included a session on system-level interconnects, featuring talks from leading silicon technology suppliers on signal integrity, system design, and switching. It addressed the design challenges of using high-speed interconnects and how different interconnects can be combined in real systems.

A second session focused on the latest developments at the physical layer for Ethernet at 10Gbps and beyond. As the industry looks at optical and electrical technologies to meet evolving system requirements, various new standards have been developed including LRM and 10GBase-T. We discussed both technologies in order to provide you with the information you need in determining the appropriate technologies and products for your designs. The session also explored system design challenges and options to address these.

The day wrapped up with a closing panel focusing on the relative strengths and merits of leading interconnects. The audience had the opportunity to grill a panel of experts on Ethernet, RapidIO, and PCIe.

The event was sponsored by Freescale, AMCC, Altera, Rambus, Pericom, Teranetics, Solarflare, Tundra Semiconductor, and The Linley Group.
